A community-based resource: standardise, share, disseminate
The SITE100 server is maintained by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The server is under development to provide uniform protocols for data deposition and analysis. In future, the server will hold these resources:
- Data repository: Existing data from shotgun sequencing and metabarcode runs, available to researchers on request. While raw data can be deposited, most data are in processed form either as full mitochondrial genomes, aligned data matrices, or metabarcoding clean sequences and clusters.
- Link data from different sources. SITE100 data (mitogenomes, barcodes) are held in a searchable library (fasta format) and can be downloaded, together with scripts for Blast searches. The server also holds a regularly updated library of barcode data from GenBank and BOLD. (Currently available only for Coleoptera).
- Workflows and bioinformatics pipelines for generating mitogenome and barcode data from raw sequencing data (Illumina).
- Ecological and environmental information associated with samples from SITE100 specimens.
